Bismarck, North Dakota has the distinct privilege of hosting the Babe Ruth World Series. What started as a dream for the Bismarck Parks and Rec department turned into years of work to make this event a reality. They began by redoing Municipal Ballpark.

"We've always wanted to host a World Series. I know with the renovations that we've done have made that opportunity for us to host the World Series because we have that ability to get fans in the stands, the ballpark is nice, they have a practice area. Just kind of everything that babe Ruth was looking for we had,” said Host President Ethan Eberle.

Having the World Series has brought teams from all over the country to our community.

"It's really unique to have one. It's the first World Series that we've had here in Bismarck and there's not many communities that get a World Series like this, especially when you have an international team involved, but Babe Ruth has criterias that they go through where a Babe Ruth World Series has to be, so it's a special event,” said Eberle.

The international team is MLB China. Their first trip to the United States not only gives the kids the opportunity to compete against the top players in their age group, it also provides a new cultural experience. On their day off, they went to Midway Lanes and bowled for the first time. But don't expect these guys to compete in the next KFYR-TV Bowling Classic.

"It's so difficult, I always hit the side," said Steve Zhao, MLB China Player.

The team from China might be unsure of its ability to bowl, but this trip to the U.S. has reinforced their Major League aspirations.

"Right now, they have confidence they can see. Oh, we work so hard, we practice so hard, and we come here we play baseball right now and we can see, okay, we're not bad, we have a chance to touch that goal," said Head Coach Stanley Xang, MLB China.

Team MLB China heads home on Friday.
