MINOT, N.D. - After a very successful inaugural season, the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs Announced Wednesday that they will be the host for the 2019 Expedition League All-Star Game.
"What you are going to have here is the best 50 to 60 players in the Expedition League. I don't think there will be a finer gathering of amateur talent in one location across the country on those nights,” said Darrell Handelsman, Sabre Dogs general manager.
The 2018 season brought an average of more than 700 fans to Corbett each night. And hosting this game will provide yet another economically beneficial event for Minot in the summer months.
The Sabre Dogs and the fantastic job that they do for the community putting on a family event in the summer. There is nothing better than coming out to the ball park and smelling baseball. Between the food, the ball park and then the entertainment, it is a great event for the Magic City and we are certainly excited,” said Minot mayor Shaun Sipma.
The All-Star game will be a two-day event on July 15 and 16. Monday, July 15, there will be a fan fest. Fans can come and meet players and get autographs. There will be a home run derby and some live entertainment. Tuesday, July 16, will consist of a VIP fans and players luncheon with a guest speaker and the game will wrap up the night.
