It's versatile, it makes noise and it catches fish. No wonder Johnnie Candle is talking about this family of lures in this week's Pro's Pointer.
Johnnie Candle, MWC World Walleye Champion & ND Fishing Hall of Famer:
"One of the hottest trends in the walleye world involves the revitalization of a family of baits that are referred to as rattle baits. One of the most common ones is one you may remember, the rattletrap. These baits are very popular because of their versatility. They do everything a jig can do and everything a crainkbait can do and just about anything in between.
We can vertically jig these and catch walleye. We can cast them shallow and reel them back to the boat and catch fish and we can cast them out and work them back to the boat in a series of lifts and drops.
The whole key is making sure you feel that lure vibrate so you are sure those rattles are working to call in those fish so they next time you're out on the lake looking to try something a little bit different remember it's not just babies that play with rattles.
I'm Johnnie Candle and that's this weeks Pro's Pointer."
