DAYTON, Ohio - The North Dakota State men's basketball team won in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the University's Division One era.
The Bison beat North Carolina Central 78-74 on Wednesday night in Dayton, Ohio.
Tyson Ward led NDSU with 23 points. Vinnie Shahid, Sam Griesel and Jared Samuelson were also double figure scorers for the Bison.
NDSU built a 13-point lead in the second half but the Eagles went on a big run to eventually take the lead. The Bison broke a 68-all tie to take the lead back and they never gave it up.
The victory means NDSU advances to play Duke on Friday, March 22. The Blue Devils are the number one seed in the East Regional.
