BISMARCK, N.D. - A handful of years ago, the Mosbrucker’s added a night of Extreme Bull Riding to their annual rodeo at the Bismarck Events Center. This year, there will be a little bit more going on the first night.
The Mosbrucker’s will keep the building busy Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Forty Bull Riders are on the schedule for the 7th, plus 14-bronc riders, but not your usual saddle situation.
"It's kind of where rodeo got its start, breaking horses out on the ranch way back when, and these guys kind of do it the old style way, it's not like a rodeo saddle bronc riding, these guys are in the traditional saddles. There's some different rules and regulations to it, but it gets pretty wild and western as well. Whenever the name Mosbrucker comes up, I immediately think of the rodeo business. Wally says the family business are really grown since the foundation was laid," said Wally Mosbrucker.
"Well it all started with my parents back in the 70s when they started in. 1978 is when they started contracting rodeos, and we've just been going ever since. We've been coast to coast with our livestock and promoting events from Oakland, CA to Albany, NY. Ottawa, Ontario to Houston, TX I guess. So, we're pretty proud of the horses we've put together over the years, and the bulls, and we just enjoy doing this," added Mosbrucker.
Again, it’s bulls and ranch bronc riding on Thursday, and the PRCA rodeo takes over the usual seven events on Friday and Saturday.
