A well-known Minot sportscaster will be returning to the airwaves for some play-by-play responsibilities.

Scott Kittell is rejoining iHeart Media for play-by-play of Minot High Boys and Girls Basketball, Minot State Mens and Womens Basketball, and complete coverage of Class "B" Boys and Girls postseason basketball tournaments, from the Region-6 districts to the State Tournament.

Kittell made the announcement on his Facebook Friday, and confirmed the news with Your News Leader.

Earlier this month, Your News Leader reported that Kittell was part of a series of nationwide layoffs for iHeart Media, as the company goes through a large restructuring effort.

Kittell is a two-time president and current member of the North Dakota A.P. Sportscasters & Sportwriters Association, as well as being a member of the Minot Baseball Hall of Fame.

Kittell was the voice of the Minot State Beavers for the past 16 years, and broadcast Minot High basketball and football dating back to 1975.
