MANDAN, N.D. - A Mandan woman is representing North Dakota on the U.S. Special Olympics Team. She will be bowling at the World Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi this March.

Jan Moser will be joining 218 other athletes from across the country.

"I just want to be myself and try to get my strikes in there and spares and just see how high of a score I can get," said Moser.

Moser has been practicing for years. She participates in a variety of sports winning silver medal in snowshoeing at a recent state competition.

"I'm very proud of the fact that she's going. She comes out here and practices every September and October before state Special Olympics so she's very dedicated, and I think it's a great experience for her," said Tammy Rohde, youth coach.

More than 7,000 athletes will be competing in Abu Dhabi.

The United States will be participating in 17 of the 24 sports at the games.

One hundred and seventy-six countries are expected to attend.
