DICKINSON, N.D. - It’s not every day that golfers from North Dakota get to play in a US Amateur Open in places like at Pebble Beach. Dickinson’s Tyler Reisenauer will be headed there next week.
The 38-year-old has been competing as an amateur for quite some time now, but being able to tee it up on a big stage at Pebble Beach is a great accomplishment.
"Playing in a lot of state amateur events, getting to know those guys, and then kind of seeing how their games are, kind of makes you want to get better at the game.,” Tyler says. “I kind of look at the whole situation as a couple things off my bucket list, to be honest with you. Playing at Pebble Beach, playing Spy Glass, I think two iconic venues with so much rich tradition, so much history there, is really exciting for me and my family."
Playing in a US Amateur Open is a major milestone for anyone, and Tyler will be happy to be there no matter the result, as he understands work comes first.
"I'm not going to just participate, I'm going to see what happens. You know I'm going to be okay with the outcome regardless, and to be honest with you, I really don't know. I can't answer that, because right now my career takes precedent over golf, which is obviously one of my passions, but I do have a big responsibility working for Titan Machinery."
You can hear more from Tyler Wednesday as Kaleigh Emery puts him in this week’s Sports Spotlight.
