MINOT, N.D. - UPDATE: Restricted beer and wine sales are now taking place at the Minot State Dome during basketball games and selected other events. For Athletic Director Andy Carter, it's the latest in a long list of facility improvements.
"I don't think we're going to make 50 or 60% improvements in anything. I think what we're looking at is making 1 or 2% percent improvements in a lot of things, and over the span of those things we're going to have a massive improvement in our gameday atmosphere," he said.
The restricted area is located on the east side of the second floor in the newly-created seating area with bar stools and table tops.
ORIGINAL STORY: Minot State Athletic Director Andy Carter announced an agreement to sell beer and wine at the MSU Dome in a restricted area during men's and women's basketball games and selected other events.
Alcohol will be restricted to an area on the east side of the second floor with bar stools and table tops.
This is an addition similar to The Pond alcohol area at Minot State football games at Herb Parker Stadium.
Carter said in a press release that "[the department has] worked hard to develop a responsible plan for this new location on the second floor of the MSU Dome, and our game day staff will partner with our campus security, local law enforcement and other campus constituents to provide a safe and positive environment for everyone in attendance."
