BISMARCK, N.D. - The Northwoods League All-Star break takes place from Monday, July 23, through Wednesday, July 25. While four of the Bismarck Larks and Field Manager Sean Repay and his staff will participate in the All-Star game on Tuesday, a couple of Larks will compete in the Home Run Derby as well.
Catcher Michael Farnell and infielder Matthew Warkentin will represent the Bismarck Larks. Farnell, who attends Murray State, has four home runs so far this season; Warkentin, who plays for Xavier, currently has eight homers.
The Home Run Derby will take place at 4:30 p.m. CT in Kalamazoo, Mich., with the All-Star Game to follow at 6:30 p.m. CT. Farnell will join infielder Ripken Reyes, outfielder Cristian Montes and pitcher Hendry Rodriguez to represent the Larks during the All-Star Game.
