High school football to scrimmage Saturday

BISMARCK, N.D. - Football teams of all levels are preparing for the season by practicing. You can usually only get so far working against your teammates so scrimmage's have become a popular thing to do. The Vikings even scrimmage against the Jaguars this week.

A majority of the Bismarck-Mandan teams will be at the Community Bowl Saturday morning for a scrimmage. It's a valuable learning tool before the regular season starts next week.

"Number one, we're still on the install package this week but hopefully by the end of practice Thursday pretty much everything is ready to do. And I tell you what, we're going to answer a lot of questions come the scrimmage on Saturday and then we start getting into prep week right away with school ready to start, and West Fargo Sheyenne is going to be an awful good opponent for us," said Ron Wingenbach, Century head coach.

The Patriots play the Mustangs on August 24.

Saturday's scrimmage at the Bowl begins at 10:00 a.m.

Next week, we will have football previews of the Bismarck-Mandan and Dickinson teams in the WDA, plus the defending Class AA champions from St. Mary's.

We'll start with Century on Monday.
