BISMARCK, N.D. - The Governors play their final regular season game Thursday against Pierre. On Saturday, Bismarck along with Mandan and Dickinson will start the process of trying to win the AA state title.

NFL teams are in camp with college and High School football teams joining them shortly so the summer seems like it's going quickly.

"Fast, it seems like we're in our first couple week and we're in our last couple weeks so it's definitely been fast. It's been a fun summer but it definitely doesn't seem like it's almost over," said Governors Head Coach Mike Skytland.

The Governors are the number-3 seed and their most consistent part is also the most important part for baseball teams.

Skytland said: "We've been really happy with our pitching and defense which it always starts with. Hitting has been these sometimes and sometimes not I guess that could be the equalizer and see where that's at during the state tournament. Ian McDonald is a third year guy and he's kind of the stabilizer I think in our rotation and a couple young guys Cade Feeney and Connor Hanson have also really given is good efforts so probably starting with those three."

The Governors play Grand Forks in the opening round. Fargo Post-2 is the number-1 seed and that's who Dickinson faces on Saturday. The Mandan Chiefs open against second seeded West Fargo. The AA State Tournament is in Minot.
