Former U.S. Olympic Softball player Leah O'Brien-Amico spoke Wednesday night at the Beaver Dam on the Minot State campus. She discussed how her playing career prepared her for life off the field.
"It taught me so many life lessons and life skills: dedication, overcoming hardships, hard work, and being a great teammate. But I think more than that, just the competition and the competitiveness. [When] you're challenged, you kind of find out what you're really made of, and we're going to have challenges in life... I found out that [I became stronger] through the struggles," O'Brien-Amico said.
O'Brien-Amico also works as a college softball analyst for ESPN.
