Former NFL player speaks out about Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy

Just over two years ago the National Football League admitted that there was a connection between Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy or CTE and playing football.

Now a former NFL player is touring the country trying to do something about it.

Nick Lowery played for the Kansas City Chiefs and says he has lost friends to the disease.

Lowery was in Bismarck over the weekend talking to people about CBD oil products and how it can help people with the disease.

"There's no reason with America's greatest game, the best thing that ever happened to me the National Football League that we can't stand up to an issue, face it as men and women. Responsibly do the right thing and help get us out of this era of concussions. CBD is going to be a big part of that," said Kannalife Spokesman and Kansas City Chiefs Hall Of Famer Nick Lowery.

Lowery works with a team at Kannalife Sciences, a Pennsylvania-based company developing Cannabidiol, or CBD products, to treat those suffering from CTE.

"Kannalife is the only pharma company with patented molecules in the CBD space for CTE, Pain and opiate addiction, and is following FDA protocol to develop these over the next couple years. " Said Lowery.

According to the state's Medical Marijuana Program CBD oil with THC is allowed in the state but only as part of the program.
