GRAND FORKS, N.D. - UPDATE (3-6-2020): It will be Grafton against Langdon Area-Edmore-Munich for the Class B Girls Basketball State Championship on Saturday night in Grand Forks.
In the semi-finals on Friday, The Spoilers beat Trenton 59-46. It was the first loss of the season for the Tigers. In the other semi-final match-up, the Cardinals topped Central Cass 62-42.
In the consolation game, Rugby defeated Shiloh Christian 57-51 while LaMoure-Litchville-Marion beat Hettinger-Scranton 54-43.
UPDATE (3-5-2020): In the night session at the Class B Girls State Basketball Tournament, Langdon-Edmore-Munich and Central Cass advanced to the semi-finals on Friday at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
The Cardinals are the number one seed and they played well against Hettinger-Scranton in the 56-35 victory. Morgan Fieije lead LA-E-M with 18 points. The Night Hawks were led in scoring by Alyssa Andress with 14 points.
In the final match-up of the first round, Central Cass used a solid first-half to build a 13 point lead over LaMoure-Litchville-Marion at the break.
The final was 80-55, so the Squirrels will play the Cardinals in the second semi-final. Grafton faces Trenton in the first semi-final on March 6.
The first semi-final is set at the Class B Girls State Basketball Tournament in Grand Forks. Grafton and Trenton won the first two games in the first round Thursday afternoon.
The Spoilers are the number two seed and they defeated Rugby 61-45. Julia Dusek led Grafton with 15 points. A big third quarter was the difference when Grafton outscored Rugby 19-9.
The Tigers remain undefeated on the season. Trenton beat Shiloh Christian 56-50. The game was tied after three quarters but the Tigers outscored the Skyhawks by six points in the final frame.
