MANDAN, N.D. - While the boys are playing in the Ralph tomorrow, the girls will be competing on the Olympic Rink at Engelstad Arena. Mandan is one of the eight qualifiers.

The girls bracket is determined by regular season records, and the Braves are the number-8 seed. Playing this week is a big step for Matt Strinden’s program.

"Our girls are really kind of, starting to develop into the kind of hockey players that we felt like they could be at the beginning of the year, and it's starting to pay off for us, so it's been good," said Strinden.

Junior Katarina Krush said, "I think the girls are really starting to put a lot of heart in the game. And it's really helping us focus up, and getting into state is really a big deal for most of our seniors."

As the number-8 seed, the Braves will play number-1 Fargo North-South. It’s the first game of the day tomorrow, and it starts at 11:00 a.m. CT.
