DICKINSON, N.D. - Dickinson State left before the snow started, the Blue Hawks are heading to Orange City, Iowa to face Northwestern in the first round of the NAIA Playoffs.
As they prepared this week, the Hawks know going against the no. 5 ranked team in the nation will not be easy, but they want to make the most out of their experience, as junior quarterback says,
"Their defense, multiple different looks, definitely going to have to prepare a lot for them. You know one week they're coming out with one coverage, and different week they're coming out with different coverage, so you know just whatever they give us, we're going to take," said Hayden Gibson, junior quarterback.
Head Coach of the Blue Hawks, Pete Stanton, said, "I think just go and embrace the opportunity and don't try and do anything that you're not capable of. You've got to treat it the same way that you would any other game and prepare yourself, and obviously the stakes are higher, but just embrace the opportunity, and go have a lot of fun."
Kick-off between the Blue Hawks and the Red Raiders is at 1:00 p.m. CT, 12:00 p.m. MT Saturday.
