Bison prepare for Wofford in FCS quarterfinals

FARGO, N.D. - Making it to the FCS playoffs should not even come as a surprise for Bison fans anymore. The last time North Dakota State did not make the post-season was 2009. While they are in the hunt for another championship ring, they have to get past Wofford in the FCS quarterfinals this weekend at the Fargodome.

The Bison have played Wofford before, back in 2012. Coach Chris Klieman knows that it will be a tough game, and he is expecting to see some of the same things he did five years ago. "Watching Wofford, they're exceptional football team, very similar to what we played in 2012, as far as what they're schematically doing offensively. Defensively, really physical team from a good league, and I think it's going to be a great football game on Saturday morning," said Klieman.

This football game is expected to be both physical, and interesting. North Dakota State has not played a team this season that uses the triple option offense. So for the Bison’s defense, they are going to have to be ready, as Linebacker Nick DeLuca says, "Yeah, it's definitely an exciting new mix-up, it's a different type of offense, it's a good opportunity for, to make plays for the linebackers, it's going to be a good challenge."

NDSU Strong Safety Robbie Grimsley mentions that, "It's going to be different, I mean, we haven't played a team like this, really ever since I've been here. Just kind of getting used to the option offense, everything's happening so quick, and you've got to be able to see things as they are, and make sure you know your assignment and you're doing your assignment. If you try and do something else, they're going to be able to break off a big gain, and that's kind of what they're looking for."

And what the Bison are looking for is a win tomorrow morning.

Kickoff is at 11:00 a.m. CT and you can watch it on ESPN 2. You can also tune into the KFYR-KVLY Bison Television Network at 10:00 a.m. CT on Saturday morning for the hour long pregame show.
