Hundreds of North Dakotans are heading down to Texas to watch North Dakota State University compete for a seventh national championship in the last eight years on Saturday.
Midwest Sports Tours has taken fans down every year the Bison have played for a title, and they are making the trip again this year.
It's a long way to Frisco, Texas, but these fans aren't scared of an almost day-long trip on a bus.
“It's an absolute dream come true. I know there are people that make too much out of sports, but this is something that everybody in North Dakota can be proud of,” said Pat Pins.
Like Pins, some have made the trip every year, while others are heading down for the first time. From young to old, the almost 20 hours this group is spending on the bus will be worth it they say when they get to see the Bison compete for another national championship.
“Visit with people, reacquaint yourself with people you haven't seen since last year because they don't necessarily live around here. It's just a great time for Bison fans who can get back together and be comrades in one goal of winning the big game,” said Pins.
Two buses took off from Bismarck on Thursday afternoon, stopping in Valley City and Jamestown to pick up more fans.
