BISMARCK, N.D. - Bismarck native Britta Curl just finds a way to win. She was a champion throughout her career with the Bismarck Blizzard and she has done the same thing her freshman year in college. Curl and the Wisconsin Badgers won the NCAA championship with a 2-0 victory over the Minnesota Gophers on Sunday.

At the celebration in Madison Wisconsin earlier this evening, Curl said winning a championship has been something she dreamed about ever since she started playing hockey.

“It hasn't really sunk in I mean the past 24 hours has been like a blur. I've barley slept it’s been really fun to celebrate with my teammates and yeah I'm really excited to have been able to finish it off. I mean obviously as a kid I grew up dreaming about doing something like this but I think I'm just really blessed I know my dad he sent me this video of the first time I skated when I was like three years old and it’s kind of crazy to believe that it’s come this far but I'm very blessed and grateful for it,” Said Curl.

Curl also went on to say the team will have two weeks off before getting back into spring workouts and that she has a lot to improve on personally.

She has big expectations for the badgers next season. Curl tallied 22 goals and 10 assists. becoming just the eighth Badger in program history to score 20 goals her freshman season.
