Bismarck golf dome goes down for summer renovations

BISMARCK, N.D. - The Fore Seasons Center on North 19th Street will be closed for the summer starting on Friday.

The Bismarck Parks and Recreation department will be replacing the turf and the dome, as well as adding new LED lighting.

"You know, I'm just excited to get this project rolling,” said Bismarck Facilities & Programs Director Kevin Klipfel. “When it's done, I think the community is really gonna embrace it. We're gonna provide some more opportunities in there. We'll have a dividing curtain so we can have multiple activities going on at the same time, which would be an enhancement to the facility."

The current turf was the former surface of the MDU Resources Community Bowl and the fabric of the dome is 23 years old. The project will cost the department roughly $1 million, and will be open for use by the first week of August.
