BISMARCK, N.D. - Bismarck State earned a place in the Junior College National Volleyball Tournament with back-to-back wins last Saturday. Tuesday, the Mystics found out who they will play in the first round next week in Charleston, West Virginia.

BSC is the number-12 seed and the Mystics will play Catawba Valley of Hickory, North Carolina in the afternoon on Thursday, Nov. 21.

BSC Head Coach Jeni Walsh has had some very good teams but this is the first time they've qualified for nationals.

"Honestly I was kind of nervous. I didn't know where we were going to be seeded since the end of the season was kind of crazy and kind of unexpected for us to be in this position so it was really exciting," said freshman Becca Nitsch.

"It was super fun! To see your name on the screen and they made a nice production out of it. It was very exciting not only for the girls on the team but the college as well," said Walsh.

"To experience it with my teammate around me is super fun! I think there was nerves in the room because we've never been in this position before so it's just an exciting experience," said freshman Cara Haussler.

The Mystics head to nationals next week.
