MANDAN, N.D. - It was a season to remember for the Bismarck Demons soccer team as they won their second state title in four years.
"Oh, it means a lot, just senior year it just means so much to have the ability to just know that we are the state champs!" said Mason Stotz, senior defender.
This year's title came with a little bit of a unique situation where the Demons would get to play in front of essentially a home crowd over at Starion Sports Complex in Mandan.
"It is very special we have all the fans. All the students came and supported today and the atmosphere was just awesome," said Easton Ford, senior goalie.
Now Starion wasn't the original site of the state tournament and the weather forced a change in dates. For fifth year head coach Andy Foss, it was all part of the process.
"You know, they stayed focused on the prize and that was playing in this last game at the state tournament. And to just watch everything they have gone through, not only this year, but especially the seniors all four years they have been here, it is just a special group and a special team," said Foss.
A special group that gets to once again call themselves state champs.
