JAMESTOWN, N.D. - Twenty-one wrestling teams from across the country braved the storms to compete in Jamestown.
Nearly 200 athletes participated in the first sanctioned collegiate Women's National Wrestling Tournament, which coincides with National Women's Month.
“It just shows how much women's wrestling is growing nationally. There's more schools adding the sport next year, and it's just really exciting to have it here in Jamestown,” said Sean Johnson, University of Jamestown athletic director.
The teams represented schools from California, Kentucky, Georgia, and more. According to their online schedule, this event caps off the season for the Jamestown team.
