MINOT, N.D. - A young entrepreneur is opening up a coffee shop in Minot.

New toppings and a new name.

What was once Classic Rock Coffee is now Badlands Brew Coffee House.

“We still have people to this day that come and they're like what you're not Classic Rock anymore and we know that's going to happen for a while,” said owner Chase Huelley.

Huelley opened the first Badlands in Stanley, but bought this shop to expand his franchise to the Magic City. Despite the change the community seems to be receiving him with open arms.

“It's different. I didn't know it had a new name till I showed up but the coffee's good. It was enjoyable,” said Mason Schmidt, customer.

Huelley says everything has fallen into place for Badlands in Minot.

“Fortunately ready as a business to take over and expand so everything just went hand and hand for us to make it happen and we are really glad that it did,” said Huelley.

Huelley says he bought the shop last month, and will hold his grand opening Saturday. He says he is grateful for the support.

“The connection Minot has with local businesses makes a huge difference,” he said.

Bringing his own brand of cup of 'jo to the people of the Magic City.

The grand opening will include a live performance from musician Bailey Johnson.
