Before he goes to Washington, Kelly Armstrong has to give up his seat in the North Dakota senate. Armstrong announced Thursday he submitted his resignation.
In a press release, Armstrong says: “It has been my honor and privilege to serve the people of District 36 in the North Dakota State Senate. I'm truly grateful for their support and the opportunity to work alongside you and our colleagues in the North Dakota Legislature.”
He was elected to the ND senate in 2012. The ND GOP says District 36 republicans will appoint someone to finish out Armstrong’s term. We reached out to District 36 about their choice to replace Armstrong, but have not heard back.
