MINOT, N.D. - This morning, more than 40 volunteers gathered at Vincent United Methodist Church in Minot for the Wreaths Across America ceremony.

The memorial honors fallen service men and women by laying wreaths at their final resting place.

World War two Veteran Johnny Benter and Nancy Bommelman-Bruce, the daughter of Army World War Two Staff Sergeant Vernon Bommelman, laid the first wreath at the staff sergeant's grave site.

“Richard Reuer contacted me and told me that my father was going to be honored and i was just blown away. I was just humbled by the whole ordeal,” said Bommelman-Bruce.

Minot will also send more than 300 wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery.
