World Health Organization, CDC say more than 140,000 people died from measles last year
Last year, more than 140,000 people around the world died from measles.
That is according to a report released by the World Health Organization and the CDC.
The majority of the deaths where among children under the age of five.
There were also nearly 10 million total cases last year, a nearly 170 percent increase since 2016.
The U.S. experienced its worst measles outbreak this year in a quarter of a century.
