BISMARCK, N.D. - A 48-year old Bismarck woman called police Friday after she got a phone call telling her to pay the caller money or her son would be killed.

Bismarck police say on March 16, the caller demanded the woman send $900 to a Walmart in Puerto Rico, which she did.

The caller then told the woman to flush the receipts and destroy the evidence.

Police say after the caller hung up, the woman called her son’s phone. He was safe and not under any threat of being harmed.
