Williston parents arrested, charged in 1-month-old child's death

WILLISTON, N.D. - The parents of a one-month-old child have been arrested in Williston in connection with the infant's death.

The Williston Police Department says they received a 911 call from a hotel reporting a one-month-old male was not breathing at about 11:39 a.m. on April 26.

Court documents show when a nurse arrived at the hotel room, she found the child buried under a pile of pillows.

After officers responded to the scene, they say the child was transported to CHI St. Alexius Health Center, and pronounced dead. Court documents show that the baby had multiple bruises.

Officers say the parents, 18-year-old Hannah McMillin and 27 year-old Tank McMillin have been arrested in connection with an investigation into the death. Police say Tank McMillin admitted to putting pillows and blankets on the baby's face when the child was fussing.

The parents are being held at the Williams County Correctional Facility on one million dollars bond each.

Court records show they were both charged with Child Neglect or Abuse, a Class A Felony.
