Williston community lines up to pay-it-forward in memory for Lexi Meduna

MINOT, N.D. - Lots of people in Williston lined up to pay-it-forward Thursday.

More than 2,500 drinks have been made at Deja Brew and delivered to about 50 businesses today, with a percentage of those proceeds going to the family of 15-year-old Lexi Meduna, who was killed in a car accident south of Tioga last weekend.

Those amounts will be matched by Elite Health and Fitness, Cooks on Main and an anonymous donor.

Cars have been consistently lining up outside of the business throughout the day, and employees have used up every space possible to prepare and store drinks for delivery.

Those who love Lexi are still grappling with the loss of their friend, but they say seeing the outpouring of people wanting to ease the burden on Lexi's family means a lot.

"She had a very outgoing personality, and she had a really good heart for everyone. I loved her laugh," said Jezebell Lien, a friend of Lexi.

The biggest delivery of the day went to Williston High School, where 180 drinks were picked up by students. Deliveries were made to many businesses around Williston as well.

Three Beans Espresso is also donating a percentage of their proceeds, and funds are being matched by The Shop Bar, One Stop Trailerz, Buster's Bar, and an anonymous personal donor.
