WILLISTON, N.D. - Williston State College will offer in-state tuition rates to students from Montana, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
WSC president John Miller says about 90 percent of their students come from the region, which includes northwestern North Dakota. Those are the students Miller wants to recruit because they don't get many from the eastern part of the state or Minnesota.
“I'm responsible and Williston State is responsible for affordability on our campus first and so that's really what we're trying to do. We're trying to take the students that traditionally attend anyway and make sure they get a good bang for their buck,” said Miller.
The state board of higher education's budget and finance committee approved a two-percent resident tuition increase for Williston State.
