The Williston Fire Department wants to warn the public about two recent incidents where people tried to get into homes by impersonating first responders.

Two separate situations happened last week, where the suspects said they needed to check fire alarms.

In the first incident, two females said they were with the fire-department, and the second happened when a male tried to enter an apartment on East Highland Drive.

First-responders say they do not go to people’s houses unannounced for inspection.

If you are approached with a similar situation, call the Williston Police Department at 701-713-3414.
