Watford City High School search

WATFORD CITY, N.D. - The Watford City Police Department took to social media Monday to let the public know about a situation at the high school.

The police department said in the post that there were officers and a K-9 unit at the school "conducting locker checks after some contraband was found at the start of school."

The school was on lockdown during the K-9 search. We reached out to the police department and they told us there is no further information at this time.

Superintedent Steve Holen says it was a low level alert, but they followed protocol. Holen says students were not in danger, and they are continuing to look into the situation.
