WATFORD CITY, N.D. - Watford City has elected a new mayor.

More than 300 people voted in the special election.

Justin Voll, President of Watford City's Branch of the First International Bank and Trust, has received 250 votes. That beat out Gregg Schuetze of Watford Electrical Inc, who received 72 votes.

These results are considered unofficial until February 27.

The two candidates threw their hat into the ring to replace Brent Sanford, after Sanford resigned the post in November to become the state's Lieutenant Governor.
