MINOT, N.D.- Next summer voters in Ward County will decide whether to extend the half-cent sales tax to fund bond payments.
The county commissioners passed a motion Tuesday morning to put a measure on the matter on the June primary ballot.
The county bought these bonds to pay for large capital improvement projects that they pay back over time.
The county has two bonds that can be paid off next year, allowing them to refinance their payments.
The refinancing of the bonds will save the county just shy of $400 thousand.
However, one bond still needs sales tax funding.
