BISMARCK, N.D. - It was a little too cold for an outdoor run Saturday so the Kirkwood Mall held a 5K inside its halls.
The 'Walk the Mall' is has become an annual event designed to get out of the cold and exercise but this year, the focus was also on supporting local veterans who are in need.
"Veterans that maybe need a little boost at a time. Maybe they need, they don't have some money for car repairs. Maybe need some help with some additional bills at this time," said Dakota Leatherneck Detachment #1419, Randy Lehmann.
Lehmann says last year dozens of veterans were helped by the more than 4-thousand dollars raised during the 5K.
