BISMARCK, N.D. - According to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, there are more than 1.8 million heads of cattle in the state.
With some farmers having a difficult time finding buyers, one woman is bringing 21st century technology to the tradition of ranching.
Karoline Rose helps farmers learn social media skills to increase livestock sales.
"When I can bring those tools, they for more empowered and also have they decision making. It's not this guessing game anymore. They can say 'I know I need to spend X number on the marketing because I know the back end numbers," said Rose.
Rose says she knew she had a unique business after selling a heifer cow through social media in 7 minutes.
