Update: Bismarck apartment fire arrest

BISMARCK, N.D. - More has been discovered about the arrest of a 42-year-old man who started a fire inside an apartment Sunday morning.

Court documents say Darren Weber admitted to his probation officer that he started the fire because he wanted to kill his roommate and go back to the penitentiary.

The documents also say that Weber went into his roommate's room with a hammer and knife with an intent to kill him before starting the fire.

DEC. 6: Police arrested a Bismarck man Tuesday for a Sunday morning apartment fire in the 500 block of Memorial Highway.

Forty-two-year-old Darren Weber has been charged with endangering by fire and putting another person's life at risk.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Bismarck man has been arrested after early morning apartment fire.

According to a Bismarck Fire Department press release, crews responded to an apartment building on the 500 Block of Memorial Highway around 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

Bismarck police say they arrested 42-year-old Darren Weber Tuesday for attempted murder, arson and violation of court order.
