BISMARCK, N.D. - Chilly as it was, the temps didn't stop thousands of student volunteers from lending a helping hand across the Bismarck-Mandan community. Wednesday was the University of Mary's Annual Day of Service, and students spent time at several locations, including the Dakota Zoo.
More than 1,200 participated at more than 50 spots. Several members of the football team were among them.
"Awesome to be able to kind of give back to the community for what they do for us,” said senior Garrett Weissinger. “And I think it's just you know a great way to show you know that we care for them as well as they care for us.”
The university's campuses in Rome, Billings and Fargo also took part in the day.
