BISMARCK, N.D. - Veterans of many wars are partying like it's the 1940s Saturday night.
USO Night is a fundraiser for the Dakota Leathernecks that has raised more than $35,000 over the last three years. Hundreds are celebrating and honoring their comrades living and dead as part of Armed Forces Day. The Leathernecks are a detachment of the Marine Corps League and they use the money for projects that help other veterans.
"Anytime that you can help a veteran in need is a good thing, and that's the whole purpose for the Marine Corps League and the Marine Corps Detachments," said Glenn Reed, Dakota Leathernecks member.
They partied the night away at the World War Memorial building in Bismarck.
