The Trinity Foundation and KHRT gave back to a few families in need.
More than 300 families were helped and Tuesday 28 households received more than a week's worth of groceries, thanks to the foundation and KHRT, along with community partners who helped raise funds and collect donations.
Families were nominated and had no idea they were receiving holiday meals. Trinity Foundation Director Al Evon says he was happy Trinity could be involved.
“This is our eighth year participating with the horn of plenty and the horn of plenty has been in existence for more than thirty years. And we are just fortunate and blessed that we can be a part of it with them and help the generosity of the community, and really make a difference at a very critical time of the year,” Evon said.
This year the Foundation surpassed their goal of $10,500. They say they raised more than $1,000 more.
