BISMARCK, N.D. - Pets in need of a new home won't be going hungry anytime soon.

Tractor Supply company in Bismarck donated 68 bags of pet food to the Animal Control Department in Bismarck.

The store manager says dog food companies change ingredients and formulas within their food, which makes Tractor Supply switch out the old bags for new ones.

Then the company donates the items to shelters in the area, this year they donated to the impound.

"A lot of times people forget about the dog pound that we have and they do a lot of adoptions through them, too. Nobody really takes care of them there so we donated it that way so then they actually have something good coming their way too," saID Store Manager Russ Krivoruchka.

Tractor Supply has been donating pet food to local shelters for five years.
