REGENT, N.D. - The chances of winning the lottery are 1 in 175,000,000. The chances of three generations of a single family having the same birthday are 48 million to one.
Evelyn Friedt was born Nov. 4, 2017, the same day as her dad Mason and her grandma Donna.
"There is no way that this is possible, that we were going to have a baby that day. We got to the hospital and the nurses told us that we were staying and a few short hours after that she was born,” said Mason Friedt.
Now, with the birth of his first child, Mason shares more than a milestone with his mom.
"She was 29 when she had me, and I was 29 when I had my daughter,” said Mason.
For Donna, sharing with her son is great, but better with her granddaughter.
"I didn't think it at the time when I was in labor, but it's pretty special,” said Donna.
When asked between her son and granddaughter who the favorite would be on Nov. 4, Donna’s answer was clear.
“My granddaughter. Sorry Mason,” Donna laughs.
In the future, birthdays could get complicated, especially if more Friedt's are born that day.
