It may seem like children today spend more time on their devices than they do on a hobby, but that's not the case for the Lockner children.
Thirteen-year-old Jonathan Lockner has added his own spark on life, creating art using horseshoes. But he doesn't do it all on his own, it's a family affair.
"This is a great hobby for him and his dad to do lots of bonding," said Lori Lockner, Jonathan's mother
Lori wants to give him a meaningful hobby.
"It's just so great having these young kids, instead of playing video games and being on your phone all the time, that they should do other stuff," said Lori.
His father, Joe, challenges him every day to come up with a different idea for his next project.
The Lockners have already completed over 300 pieces and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
They have attended four venues to put Jonathan's art on display, their next goal to join the Pride of Dakota.
You can find his artwork through his Facebook page, Jonathan's Creations, or see him at his next venue at St. Joseph’s in Mandan on Dec. 8 and 9 for the Baking Extravaganza and Craft Show.
