The North Dakota Supreme Court denied the appeal of a former Lyft driver who sexually assaulted one of his passengers in August of 2018.

According to court records, 40-year-old Corey Wickham appealed his case, stating the state failed to qualify the five witnesses as experts.

Documents state the three of the witnesses were forensic scientists, one was a registered nurse, and the other a Bismarck Police Officer.

A jury found Wickham guilty of gross sexual imposition, and the judge sentenced him to 20 years in prison.

Court documents say when Wickham was dropping the victim off, he began kissing and touching her inappropriately.
