Summer in the rearview mirror as snow moves through the state

BISMARCK, N.D. - It's the first snow of the season and it could be a historical one in some parts of the state.

While the worst is likely behind us in Bismarck, another wave is coming that could impact our friends in the east with much larger amounts of snow.

The shovels are out in full force again just a few short months after the last winter season finally left us.

"I don't like it," said Kevin Koch, Mandan resident.

Yeah, Kevin, neither do we, and now you'll have to leave behind your tropical attire

"Most of the time I wear flip flops and I was not going to wear them today cause, you know, my feet would just get wet," said Koch.

While the fall leaves are covered in snow, many believe it's just part of nature's flow.

"A little surprised, but it's North Dakota, so, you know, it should be expected," said Damon Albers, Bismarck resident.

Some hanging on to summer, others filled with hope.

"Here we go again. Kind of early but I'm thinking it's not going to stick around," said Albers.

Step by step, we creep closer to the colder days and further away from the sunshine and lake getaways.
