Student uses marketing skills to collect coats

BISMARCK, N.D. - A Marketing course through the Missouri River Area Career and Technical Center is asking its students to complete a community service project to help others.

Austin Hartman, a student at Shiloh Christian School, has been collecting new and gently used coats all week long.

“So we had to market it several different ways, just get the word out to our schools. We came up with some fliers, we did morning announcements, they sent out an email just to get the word out so people would know,” said Hartman.

Hartman will deliver the coats to his church so they can be given to an organization called Kids In Need and to those who do not have winter clothing.

He also received a 50 scarf donation from "All Strong Moms."
