MINOT, N.D. - You have the chance to learn what it’s like to spend a night in jail—and it’s all for a good cause.
The Ward County Sheriff's Department is teaming up with the Domestic Violence Crisis Center to host "A Night in Jail" on Friday Dec. 1.
They will offer fifty lucky people the opportunity to spend the night in jail while donating $50 the DVCC. Participants will be fake arrested and then transported to the new addition of the ward county jail and spend the night.
The sheriff says the visit will not be luxurious, but will depict what an actual inmate would experience.
“It's for a good cause and if you've ever wondered what it's like to be in jail, this is your opportunity. Because it's a new jail, Never been utilized before so we'll have brand new conditions and you can be the first ones to be in jail,” said Ward County Sheriff Bob Barnard.
Applications will be available for pick up at the Ward County Sheriff's Department and will be first come first serve. Wednesday, Nov. 22, is the deadline to turn in an application.
