Spa D' Athena being sued to honor consumers gift cards

Spa D' Athena is being sued by the North Dakota Attorney General’s office to honor consumers gift cards, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The office says the spa has violated consumer trust, leading Wayne Stenehjem to file a consumer fraud investigation, resulting in legal action.
Almost 1,400 consumer complaints have been filed for gift cards, totaling $182,000.
Parrell Grossman, director of the Consumer Protection Division, said the information provided by the business suggests that the total obligation to consumers for un-redeemed gift cards would be almost $500,000.
"We're talking about a significant amount of debt and obligation that's owed by this business and its owners to North Dakota consumers that have purchased these gift cards," said Grossman.
The attorney general’s office is asking the court to have Spa D' Athena refund gift cards to their customers.
The office recommends people to continue filing a complaint if they haven't yet.
